What is living with overwhelm costing you?

Overwhelm is defined as the fact or feeling of not being able to cope or deal with something.

When you feel Overwhelmed, you're overcome by emotions because something feels too Stressful and too hard to handle.


Your Emotional Response combined with a Physical Reaction can slow down or stop your ability to think clearly or work out how to handle a situation.


This can leave you feeling a lot of emotions all at once. Maybe confused, tense, upset, angry, moody, wanting to cry, wanting to hide, feeling alone or lost.


It is important to recognize that it's not just difficult or unusual circumstances that create Overwhelm and Stress. It is also everyday life that can cause stresses to build to out of control proportions too. Health Care Workers have an extra level of pressure placed upon them because of the situations and environments they are exposed to. That is why they need to be a little more vigilant in monitoring for rising stress symptoms and occurrences of overwhelm.


There are many Symptoms of Overwhelm such as a racing heart, finding it hard to breathe, aches, pains, dizziness, anxiety, behavioural changes, not being able to focus. Problems making decisions.


Long term Stress and Overwhelm can also lead to other symptoms such as depression, addictions, a lack of self esteem and confidence, tiredness, high blood pressure, heart problems, mental illness and eventually even burn out.

From hairdresser to therapist

When self development and change work become your passion

I have been on a journey of self-discovery for most of my life.


Being a Therapist was not my first choice for a career. I didn't choose to be a Therapist because it was recommended to me by a teacher or advisor at school, or because I came across a job advertisement. and thought why not. Nope not even close. It was the last thing on my mind back then. I actually wanted to be a Hairdresser. Which I did. And as it turned out, I spent years being a Therapist while I styled hair LOL.


But what I do know is that for as long as I can remember I have been on a self-discovery quest. For years and years I read loads of self-help books, listened to heaps of webinars and podcasts, studied courses and searched for alternative therapies.


I have been on a search for natural modalities that would complement modern medicine to provide me with a more holistic, healthy and well rounded approach to living in this busy world. I always believed there had to be a balance between the two.


So, it’s fair to say that I have tried quite a few alternative Therapies with varying results, but none have been able to match the sheer power and speed or gained the results that Hypnotherapy has been able to.


To be truthful. I have over the years been told I should do counselling or some type of therapy work. But at the time I was so bogged down with my own stresses and issues that I just couldn't see it.


I was just living life, trying to juggle being a single mum, a sole income provider, While keeping a roof over our heads, food on the table and working out my own issues and life issues when they arose. Which was happening a lot. So it was a slow battle that most of the time I felt like I was losing.


But when I found Hypnosis it changed everything.


I thought wow, I need to learn how to do this because so many people are suffering for way too long, in pain, needlessly, when it could all be changed so quickly and easily compared to other modalities and therapies.


So I did!

And my whole world changed.


I studied and I became a Hypnotherapist on a mission to Reduce Overwhelm, Lower Stress and Alleviate Anxiety.


And life has never been so good.

Why is using Conversational Hypnotherapy and RTT Therapy so effective?


​When using hypnosis, the heightened state of relaxation allows your subconscious mind to have more focus not less because the critical chattering conscious mind is bypassed.


To make positive, permanent change we need more than will power and logic, we need to connect to the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is where all the habits and beliefs live. This is where we operate on auto pilot, and this is where we live most of the day. There are so many things we do unconsciously every day. We shop, we eat, we drive the car, watch a movie, we do mundane jobs all at the subconscious level. We don’t even have to think about what we are doing most of the time it’s just repetition of the things we have already learnt and done over and over again.


This is why this kind of change work is so phenomenal. In the relaxed state where we are so switched off and absorbed, we can install new habits and new beliefs on a permanent level. You won’t ever have to use will power on that particular issue again to control or change it. During the session your own positive suggestions and clearer understanding are planted like seeds into the subconscious and new beliefs are able to take hold.


Hypnosis is a completely natural trance state and you have probably done it a million times without knowing. I bet you’ve forgotten if you passed a street or not on the way home. What does it feel like?

The experience can feel different for different people. Don’t expect to feel ‘hypnotised’. Some people feel a floating sensation, some do not. Others may feel sleepy, some do not. Most people feel relaxed and at ease. What’s most important is to know that how you feel isn’t an indicator of how effective it is. Regardless of what it feels like – it’s working.


How does it work?

Hypnosis is just a natural state of relaxation, like just before falling asleep. It can be like daydreaming and you may or may not even notice . We usually think we have never done it before even though we do it every day. Hypnosis is not magic – it’s science! It’s very easy and anyone can do it, you’ll see for yourself when you do it too!

Conversational Hypnotherapy and RTT Therapy are utterly amazing and powerful, but they are by no means a magic pill.

If a major issue has been controlling parts of your life for years or even decades it would be a stretch to think that all of the changes and the processing needed to make those changes would manifest themselves completely during the session. Sometimes the effects and processing from a session can be felt for days, months or even years afterwards.

When will I start to see changes?

There are 3 types of changes – Keeping in mind that every person is different.

a) Immediate: You feel a massive shift right away – immediate changes in your physiology, thoughts and behaviors right in the session.

b) Incremental: You see consistent shifts every day, or over time.

c) Retroactive: You don’t see the shifts right away and then one day you suddenly look back and see all of the things that are different in your life.
